PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo as the substantive Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE). Mallam Fikpo held the position in acting capacity until the announcement.
The approval was conveyed in a statement by Mallam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity) on Tuesday.
Mallam Shehu also announced the President’s approval of the appointment of Comrade Issa Aremu, (mni) as the Director of the National Institute for Labour Studies (NILS), Ilorin, Kwara State.
Comrade Aremu is Vice President of IndustriALL Global Union and was until recently the General Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Textile Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria as well as a two-term Vice President of the NLC.
The appointments which are for a period of four years, according to Mallam Shehu, take effect from today, May 18, 2021.
