CHIEF Press Secretary (CPS) to the Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly, Mr Lubem Tiav, has resigned his appointment.
In a letter dated 1st March, 2021, addressed to Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Tony Ijohor, Mr Tiav explained that his resignation was due to personal and family reasons.
In the letter, which was obtained by our correspondent, Mr Tiav thanked the state governor, for the appointment and the opportunity to serve in his administration.
The letter, entitled, “Notification of resignation of Appointment as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor (Press) Office of the Speaker,” reads in part: “Your letter of appointment Ref. No.S/CAB/BS/SSG/A/9/XII/92 dated 23rd July 2019 refers. I hereby wish to notify your good offices of my resignation as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor (Press) office of the Speaker. My resignation is due to personal and family reasons.
“I wish to also express my profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Benue State, His excellency, Samuel Ortom for finding me worthy of this appointment and the opportunity to serve in his administration.”
Mr Tiav, a graduate of the University of Jos, is a broadcast journalist. He was until his appointment, a staff of Radio Benue, Makurdi, from where he took a leave of absence in 2019.
