THE Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, has directed principals of Federal Government Colleges, otherwise known as Unity Schools, across the country to re-open on October 11, 2020. The directive was contained in a letter signed by the minister on Wednesday, and sighted by National Record.

Categories of students to resume, according to the letter, include students in junior and senior secondary schools who are either yet to write their second term exams or have written but yet to commence third term.
Mallam Adamu said “schools that have not concluded their 2nd term examination should round off and commence 3rd term immediately which is expected to end in December.” This, he said, is to enable students who have been at home since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic to complete their academic session which will end in December.
He advised that COVID-19 protocols should be strictly observed in the schools to prevent its spread among students.
