Dr Hussaini Abdu, Country Director of Plan International Nigeria, has been appointed by the federal government as a member of Nigeria Agenda 2050 Technical Working Group. Plan International Nigeria made the revelation via a post on its Facebook wall on Tuesday.
According to the post, the “working group is mandated to develop a long-term Development Plan tagged ‘Nigeria Agenda 2050’ and a medium-term National Development Plan (2021-2025) which are both meant to replace the current Nigeria Vision 20:2020 and the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP 2017-2020). The Nigeria Vision 20:2020 will lapse in December, 2020.”
The letter announcing Dr Abdu’s appointment, the Facebook post said, was signed by the Honourable Minister of State, Finance, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, dated 5th June, 2020. The letter also indicated that Dr Abdu will serve in the Poverty Alleviation and Social Investment thematic area.
“@Hussaini Abdu is a public intellectual, author, development and humanitarian specialist, activist and a passionate campaigner for social justice with extensive international strategic leadership experience spanning over 23 years.
“The working group has since been inaugurated by the minister and have begun their assignments.
“Here is wishing Hussaini and other members of the working group successful deliberations!” The post concluded.
