FORMER Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Hon. Sam Ode, at the weekend has described Igede as hard working and committed people who have continued to make useful contributions to the development of Benue State and Nigeria in general.

Hon. Ode, a frontline Benue State 2023 governorship aspirant stressed that “though unassuming, the Igede had made a mark in every sphere of life and excelled in all human endeavours.”
Hon. Ode stated this at the unveiling and commissioning of Phoenix Lodge, a world-class hospitality edifice located in Oju, Oju local government area of Benue State on Saturday, 28th February, 2021.
The former minister, who is also a governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), thanked the proprietor of Phoenix Lodge, Maj. Gen. Ede Ode (rtd.), (not related to Hon. Sam Ode who hails from Otukpo LGA), for his foresight in bringing development to his immediate community of Oju local government area in particular and Benue State in general.
Hon Ode added that the venture would create more employment in the area; enhance economic wellbeing of the people; and attract more development and investment opportunities to the immediate community.
The Lodge was commissioned by His Excellency, Governor Samuel Ortom, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Hon. Joseph Odaudu
The ceremony was attended by serving and retired military officers, professors, public office holders, top civil servants and other dignitaries from all walks of life.
