A statement signed by his Media Adviser, Mr Andrew Agbese, noted that the lawmaker will be waging the war against drug abuse in collaboration with the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

The sensitization workshop will hold separately in Ado, Ogbadibo and Okpokwu, the three local governments that make up the federal constituency otherwise called Enone (Benue South) Federal Constituency.

Dr Ottah Agbo, who is also the spokesman of the Minority Caucus, stressed that the 3-day advocacy workshop will target the youths of the three LGAs on the menace of drug abuse and addiction, and their implications on the society.

The statement reads in part: “…the youths are the leaders of tomorrow. We must secure them; we must deliver them from the evil of narcotic drug addiction so that they can reach tomorrow; to lead. That is why we are waging a concerted war against narcotic drug addiction, for failure to kill narcotic drugs addiction, it will kill Nigeria!”

Dr Ottah Agbo said the sponsorship of the workshop is part of the several advocacy and empowerment programmes he appropriated for his people in the 2020 budget and called on all National Assembly members and stakeholders to give priority to the war against drug abuse because according to him, drug addiction has permeated all sectors of the country, all demographics hence the need to take drastic measures by government at all levels and families to curb it!

The workshop begins at the J.O. Multipurpose Centre, Okpoga, the headquarters of Okpokwu LGA on Monday, November 30, 2020 at 10am. On Tuesday, December 1, 2020, the sensitisation workshop moves to the St. Paul Event Centre, Old Branch Junction, Obu-Otukpa, the headquarters of Ogbadibo LGA, while the final programme will hold at the Samantha Lodge in Igumale, the headquarters of Ado LGA, on Wednesday, December 2 , 2020.

The three workshops would each be declared open by Dr Ottah Agbo, popularly known as the Ozigizaga and the Moving Train of Enone Politics.

Participants at the workshop are drawn from the 35 wards of the federal constituency.
