THE presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Thursday promised civil servants and retirees in Benue State that he will clear all arrears of wages and pension owed them by the Ortom administration.
Tinubu made the promise during the APC presidential campaign rally held at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi, Benue State capital.
Tinubu who expressed worry over the arrears of pension owed Benue retirees as well as salary arrears said “if you vote for APC, your headache is gone”.
The APC presidential candidate also promised to “establish students’ loan, provide quality education, revive agriculture and tackle insecurity headlong as he assured Benue voters of his ability to manage Nigeria’s economy.
Tinubu, who acknowledged that the APC gubernatorial candidate in Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has brought hope and fame to the party, however did not present flag to him even as he verbally recognised the Catholic Priest as the guber flagbearer in spite of outstanding court cases.
Earlier, Sen. George Akume, the Minister of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs, canvassed support for Tinubu, Rev. Fr Alia and all other candidates of the party and urged Benue people to vote for the party in the forthcoming general elections.
Fr. Alia, on his part, expressed confidence despite court cases against him, saying he has finished campaign and was only waiting to be sworn into office as the next governor of Benue State.
